Why poems?

I tried and tried to write a journal where I describe my life and feelings, but I never really enjoyed and so I stopped. Then I saw that writing poem is a thing, I can write about a situation, person, emotion in a creative and playful way. Sometimes it rhymes sometimes not.
Sharing those is very personal but I think its time.
